Do you have an EVV smart device provided by your state program? Your provider may have talked with you about the EVV smart device. You use it to verify, check in and check out of home and community services visits. Here are tips on how to use it.

* How do I charge my EVV device?

You will find the charging port on the bottom of the device or if you have a CAT device, it is on the left side at the top. Insert the cable into the port and plug into the wall. Give your device at least 10 minutes to charge. Please use the charging cable you got with your device.

* How do I turn on my EVV device?

To turn on the device, push the button on the upper right-hand side of the device. You may need to hold it for a few seconds.

* My EVV device doesn’t turn on. What should I do?

Make sure the device is charged. Connect to charger. After the device has charged for a few minutes, power on the device. If the device still does not turn on call the telephone number located on the device label.

* How do I log into the SMC app?

Open the Sandata Mobile Connect (SMC) app on the device.

Log in using your Santrax ID (i.e., 2-88888), your username and password (sent to your email address).

* I forgot my password. What should I do?

Click “Forgot Password” on the device screen of the app, follow the prompts and answer the security questions.

* It says “offline” at the top of my EVV device? What if I don't have signal?

When you don’t have enough signal, you will see the offline banner at the top of your screen. Record your visit as usual. The EVV device will store visit information until there is a connection. After your device finds a signal, the banner will disappear to show you your device is connected and will transfer your EVV visit information.
