Women's History Month was first celebrated in the United States in 1987, after being declared by Congress in 1981. Women have played important roles in all aspects of history, from politics and science to the arts and sports. However, their contributions have often been overlooked or undervalued. Women's History Month is a time to celebrate the achievements of women, but also to reflect on the work that still needs to be done to achieve gender equality. It is a time to recognize the important contributions that women have made to society, and to inspire future generations of women to continue making history.
