Criteria for Staff to See Available Shifts

This article will help you to:

  • understand why certain shifts may not be seen.

If an employee does not see any Available Shifts or does not see a specific shift, please review the items below.  One or more of the criteria listed determine the shifts that appear.

  • The shift is published and is either open or posted.
  • The employee is approved to work at the location.
  • The employee is not excluded from working with any clients assigned to the shift.
  • The employee does not have approved time off at any point during the shift.
  • The employee is not already scheduled to work another shift that overlaps with the shift.
  • Picking up the shift would not cause the employee to go above the company's absolute maximum hours for the day or week.
  • The employee has the necessary qualifications for the shift.

Note:  If staff do not see a shift due to their weekly hours exceeding the company max hours, they will not be able to pick it up.  However, their manager can still schedule them for that shift.

The available shifts then appear in the order that best match the following criteria and weighting.  Please note:  criteria weighting is configurable per customer and may not be listed in the same order as the example below.  It can be adjusted in the Time Tracking Options on the Staff Selection Scoring card.
